Candice Bennatt is a New Orleans Attorney and the founding partner of Candice Bennatt Law. A Texan by birth, Candice now calls New Orleans home following her graduation from the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. She earned her undergraduate at Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Minor in Communications.
Ms. Bennatt obtained a Juris Doctorate and Graduate Diploma in Civil law from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, where she attended on a dean’s academic scholarship.
While at Loyola, Candice placed 3rd overall in her class in the Moot Court competition. She accepted a position on the Moot Court team as an oral arguer and competed nationally at the National Constitutional Criminal Procedure Competition in San Diego where her team placed 3rd overall. She was recognized for her supreme oral argument ability, composure, deference to the bench, and command of the law.
Previously, Ms. Bennatt clerked for the family law unit at Southeast Louisiana Legal Services, Yeager, LaNasa, Tauzier, and the New Orleans Bio-Innovation Center. Additionally, she was a legal assistant for a large mass tort litigation firm in New Orleans.
While in school, Candice had a successful run in the beauty pageant circuit — winning Miss Louisiana USA 2015 and Miss New Mexico 2012. She would compete in Miss America 2013 and Miss USA in 2015, where she finished in the top 10 representing Louisiana.
She is currently very active in advocacy and volunteer work around the New Orleans area. Candice received a certificate of recognition from New Orleans Mayor, Mitchell J. Landrieu, in 2018 as an honorary member of the Orleans Parish Civic Leadership Academy. She is an ambassador for the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, has publicly spoken out about protecting people who suffer from domestic abuse, and went as far as speaking on the Senate floor in Baton Rouge advocating for a bill that ultimately passed to protect victims of domestic abuse.
Candice focuses her legal acumen on domestic litigation, divorce, prenuptial agreements, child support, spousal support, community property issues, and intellectual property. She is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, Jefferson Bar Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association. Candice has successfully litigated cases in Jefferson Parish, Orleans Parish, St. Charles Parish, St. Tammany Parish, and Tangipahoa Parish.
Outside of her practice, Candice loves to stay active, emcees city events, and enjoys spending time with her friends, family and her 4lb chihuahua, Toffee.
